The Ultimate Smoothie Guide

We love smoothies! When they're packed with nutrients from Abundance Algae, you have the energy and nourishment to face whatever comes at you throughout the day.


To make it easy for you, we've got a simple formula you can use to make any smoothie in minutes, knowing it will taste great.


Choose your liquid!

Light: Water, coconut water, fresh squeezed orange juice, green juice

Creamy: unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk, hemp seed mylk - the options are endless!  We especially love home made mylk - this way you ensure freshness and avoid additives, preservatives, and artificial sweeteners!

Pour as much liquid as you need, but keep in mind, you'll want only about half the volume of the total smoothie to be liquid, otherwise, it'll be overwhelming to finish!


Pick your fruit!  

Anything goes! Put in 1-2 cups of fruit and 1-3 ripe bananas (if they're frozen, it provides a nice texture as well!)

Here are some examples: pineapple, mango, berries, banana, apple, pears


This is where you get your oh-so-delicious veggies in! Don't hesitate to put in some of the ones you normally wouldn't eat if you don't like the taste - everything else in the smoothie will make your not-so-favourite veggies taste amazing!

Here are some examples: spinach, lettuce, mixed greens, kale


Time for the Superfoods!!

If you're not familiar with very many superfoods, here are a few options of our favs for smoothies!

Abundance Algae: Both Spirulina and Chlorella are classified as tops in the SUPERFOOD world giving you energy, stamina, focus, and sense of wellbeing.

Chia Seeds: These seeds are loaded with nutrients, fibre, protein & healthy omega fats.

Hemp hearts: These super boosters are the perfect addition to any smoothie for extra nutrients, fibre, omegas, protein, vitamins, minerals & antioxidants.

And blend!

Best way to mix them up, blend them together with your Nutribullet, OmniBlend, or Vitamix! If you don't have a blender, make sure you spend good money on it - it's an investment that will be a part of your healthy lifestyle for a long, long time!
